November 8, 2024. The last step in the vote-counting process takes place tomorrow, Saturday, November 9, with the Final Count. The Final Count occurs, by legislation, 12 days after the last day of voting.
During the Final Count, eligible vote by mail ballots received between October 27 and November 7 are counted, along with votes cast in hospitals and remand facilities on October 28. These results are then combined with those from the First and Second Preliminary Counts to get official results, along with a turnout number.
The Final Count also includes all 61 returning offices verifying that their results were entered correctly on the evening of October 28. The process at returning offices does not involve a recounting of ballots, but a verification of the earlier figures.
Results from the first two stages of counting can be viewed at: https://results.elections.sk.ca/. The Final Count results will be available online at this URL once the Final Count has concluded centrally and in all 61 constituencies, likely Saturday evening.
