Elections Saskatchewan has a central role in upholding the legitimacy of democratic processes in the province of Saskatchewan.

Individuals working with Elections Saskatchewan must be, and must be seen to be, impartial and non-partisan in conducting their duties. Public trust and confidence in the integrity, objectivity, and impartiality of the electoral process must be preserved and enhanced. Impartiality is one of Elections Saskatchewan’s five core values.

Individuals must agree to not engaging in partisan political activity for the length of their employment with Elections Saskatchewan. Examples of partisan behaviour include:

  • Engaging with a provincial or federal political party
  • Working/campaigning for a  provincial or federal political party
  • Publicly voicing or expressing support for a candidate or political party (posting a lawn sign at your residence, amplifying or liking social media posts, speaking at public forums, etc.)
  • Any other political or public activity which compromises, or might be seen to compromise, the non-partisan and impartial service provided by Elections Saskatchewan
