September 24, 2018 – Today was the final count for the provincial by-election in the constituency of Regina Northeast held September 12, 2018.

The preliminary count was held after the polls closed on by-election night. Today, all absentee ballots, also known as voting-by-mail, were added to the final count. The absentee ballots needed to be postmarked no later than September 12 but had until September 22 to be received at Elections Saskatchewan.

  • 12,468 registered voters (12,448 in 2016 General Election (GE))
  • 4,992 ballots cast (7,173 in 2016 GE)
  • 40.04 percent turnout of registered voters (57.81 percent in 2016 GE)
  • Ballots from a total of 48 boxes were counted September 12, comprised of:
    • 44 regular polls
    • 3 advance polls
    • 1 homebound poll
  • One additional poll for absentee votes was added to today’s final count for a total of 49 ballot boxes.
