February 13, 2017 – Registered voters in the constituency of Saskatoon Meewasin will soon find their Voter Information Card (VIC) in their mailbox.

“Voter Information Cards are personalized for each registered voter in Saskatoon Meewasin. Each card contains key information a voter needs to vote—such as where and when to vote and what ID will be required at the polls,” says Dr. Michael Boda, Chief Electoral Officer of Saskatchewan. “If you receive a VIC and the information related to you is correct, you are ready to vote. There’s nothing left for you to do prior to voting. Just remember to bring your VIC and ID with you when voting.”

If you receive a VIC with information that is not correct, please call 1-877-958-8683 or go to www.elections.sk.ca/voterregistration where you can update your information online.  You have until February 21 to register online or contact Elections Saskatchewan by phone.

If you don’t register by Feb. 21, you can still vote by registering in person at advance voting Feb. 24 to 28, or on by-election day, March 2.

To vote in the Saskatoon Meewasin by-election you must:

  • Be a Canadian citizen;
  • Be at least 18 years old;
  • Have lived in Saskatchewan for at least the six months before the day the by-election was called (Aug. 3, 2016);
  • Ordinarily be a resident of the constituency of Saskatoon Meewasin.

The constituency of Saskatoon Meewasin has been vacant since the passing of Roger Parent, MLA for Saskatoon Meewasin, on November 29, 2016.
